Sales Tax, Damage Freight & Shipping

Sales tax. We collect sales taxes for select US states. If you see a tax amount listed on the last checkout screen and have a valid Tax Exempt form or Resale Certificate for the ship-to state, we can add it to your account to make sure we do not collect state tax on your purchases. Please fill out the form located at https://plastecventilation.com/pages/reseller-registration or give us a call prior to ordering.

If you have previously placed your order online, please write your order number on the top of your tax-exempt form and either fill out the aforementioned form or contact us ASAP. The tax-exempt form must be received prior to fulfilling the order. All received tax forms are verified with the corresponding state tax authority.

Shipping. Most items we sell are shipped via a variety of shippers. ALL ITEMS ARE SHIP FULLY INSURED AGAINST FREIGHT DAMAGE. Large items (such as commercial fans/blowers and other large items) must be shipped via truck freight. However, we will endeavor to make any arrangements that are required.

To avoid additional charges, please choose the appropriate “Shipping Method” based upon the destination type.

We can ship to a variety of destinations but please see the requirements below:

Shipping to Commercial Location –

1. The destination must be in a commercial area that was designed for commercial traffic and is accessible by tractor-trailer trucks and other commercial vehicles. 
2. The destination must have a dock or the ability to offload freight with specialized equipment.

Shipping to Location Requiring Liftgate –

1. The destination must be in a commercial area that was designed for commercial traffic and is accessible by tractor-trailer trucks and other commercial vehicles.

Shipping to Limited Access Location –

1. The destination must be accessible by tractor-trailer trucks and other commercial vehicles.
2. Limited access is defined as those areas that cannot be readily accessed without additional steps. Examples include construction sites, storage facilities, prisons, military installations, ports, harbors/marinas, other secure areas that have security-related inspections and processes prior to tender, destinations that are not open to the general public during normal business hours, do not have personnel readily available to assist with delivery function, and alike.

Canadian Orders. We love orders from Canada! Please add the items you would like to purchase to your basket and do a standard checkout/purchase. Shipping costs may or may not be shown during checkout. In the event no shipping cost was provided during checkout, we will contact you and provide a cost once it is available from our shipper. Please note that additional charges such as duties and Canadian taxes may apply (typically collected by the shipper during delivery). If you have a preferred shipping method, please let us know during checkout or contact us ASAP.

Freight Disclaimer.

Please read the following disclaimer regarding the acceptance of freight deliveries to your place of business.  If the following protocol is not abided by, under no circumstances shall Plastec Ventilation Inc, and or Plastec Ventilation, Inc be liable for any losses or damages whatsoever, whether in contract, tort or otherwise.

Please instruct all employees and personnel to carefully inspect all freight deliveries for damage or shortage BEFORE signing the delivery receipt provided by the transportation carrier.  Upon inspection, if damage is noticed, you have two options.  First, if the damage is severe, we recommend you REFUSE the freight and have it returned to the manufacturer, Plastec Ventilation Inc.  The second option is to notate the damage on the delivery receipt.  We only recommend this option if the damage appears to be minimal or not severe.  

Failure to refuse damaged freight or sign for damaged freight without properly notating the delivery receipt will result in a denied freight claim.  Plastec Ventilation Inc, will not be liable for such claims as previously mentioned. 

In some cases, there is no visible evidence of damage to the packaging and as such, concealed damage may have occurred.  If the delivery receipt was signed for free and clear of damage (no notation of damage), you have 48 hours to notify the manufacturer, Plastec Ventilation Inc of this concealed damage.  Failure to do so will result in a denied claim and Plastec Ventilation Inc will not be liable for any losses.
